These events have been so popular and successful\, and they hope this one will be the best yet! PFAR vegan potlucks are great opportunities for vegans and vegan-curious individuals to meet like-minded people\, engage in meaningful conversations\, and share delicious food. Board games are available on-site\, but please feel free to bring any games from home to share. \nLike always\, this event is free! Here are a couple of important notes: \n\nPlease bring your own plates\, forks\, bowls\, and other eating utensils from home to help make the event environmentally friendly and reduce the use of disposables.\nPlease also bring a note card listing the ingredients in your dish(es) to help those with specific food allergies.\n\nThe event also includes a meet-and-greet with their cow residents. Two experienced Tour Guides will introduce you to the Refuge herd of eight curious\, social cows\, including a three-generational family. \nThis family-friendly event is a great opportunity to celebrate warmer weather\, longer days\, and compassionate living. RSVP and let them know what you’re thinking of bringing using this link!  \nThere is an ADA-certified porta-potty on site\, and a portable handwashing station has also been installed. DESCRIPTION:Join Friends of the Lower Haw and NC State Parks for an Earth Day Canoe Paddle and Clean Up on Wed\, Apr 22\, 10am-2pm at the Lower Haw River State Natural Area. Paddle the Haw in a tandem canoe while cleaning up trash in the river along the way. After a short introduction\, the paddle trip will launch at Bynum Mill Access and take out about 3.4 miles downstream at the US 64 Haw River Canoe Access\, with a shuttle ride back to Bynum Mill Access.  \nBring your own snacks/lunch and drinking water for a short lunch stop along the river. NC State Parks will provide the canoes\, life jackets\, and shuttle ride. The estimated total time for the event\, including the introduction\, lunch stop\, paddling\, and the shuttle ride back\, is approximately 4 hours. Learning to use hatchets and other tools with greenwood is one facet of hand-tool woodworking that fosters a deeper connection to the forest and the local community. \nAlong the way\, sip and shop the Chatham Beverage District\, part of the Chatham County Craft Beverages & Country Inns Trail\, with local beers from bmc brewing\, wines and ciders from Starrlight\, spirits from Fair Game\, and sake from Koshu. Participating Chatham County farms include: \n\nThe Inn at Celebrity Dairy.\nChatham Oaks Farm (Opens at 12pm\, snacks available for purchase).\nGranite Springs Farm.\nGreen Heal Farms (Opens at 12pm).\nLittle Pond Gardens at The Plant (Opens at 12pm\, snacks available for purchase).\nLittle Way Farm (Open Saturday only).\n\nTour 30+ local\, scenic\, and sustainable farms in five North Carolina counties (Orange\, Durham\, Alamance\, Person\, and Chatham). Discover the delicious meat\, dairy\, mushrooms\, fruits\, and veggies produced in the Piedmont! Farm visits include pasture-raised livestock farms\, baby animals\, fiber demonstrations\, hayrides\, farm equipment on display\, an award-winning cheese dairy\, locally grown and fermented pickles\, newly established orchards\, food trucks\, locally grown hops\, a farm with a brewery on site\, and organically grown produce farms. \nVisualize your route with Wander Maps.
