What folks call “Americana” is what NearBlind James Shoe and Harmonica Bob Waldrop have been playing together since 1979 as a duo and in multiple bands over the years.  They are pretty much joined at the hip musically. John and Kim Dengler joined in 2019 to fill out the sound and singing\, and to allow for different directions.  Lots of Harmony and on-key singing! Songs include a few originals and others that date as far back as the 1930’s and up to now\, including blues\, soul\, gospel\, primitive country\, rockabilly\,  R & B\, and all those other good ‘ns. Jumpin’-Jivin’-Swingin’-Swayin”! No draggin mess cause folks want somethin with some PEP.  It’ll be cold outside but hot inside!  \nSip and shop the Chatham Beverage District\, part of the Chatham County Craft Beverages & Country Inns Trail\, with local beers from bmc brewing\, wines and ciders from Starrlight\, spirits from Fair Game\, and sake from Koshu. DESCRIPTION:Join the Chatham County Beekeepers Association for an in-person\, one-day Intermediate Beekeeper Course on Sat\, Jan 31\, 8am-5:30pm at the Chatham County Agriculture & Conference Center (CCACC).  The primary audience for the school is beekeepers with at least one year of beekeeping experience. This course is designed to help local beekeepers advance their knowledge and to increase the number of skilled beekeepers in the region. The course will be taught by a group of beekeepers who are not only subject matter experts but also have several years of practical knowledge and experience on the topics presented. At the conclusion of this one-day class\, participants will have received education regarding relevant beekeeping topics that will enable them to be better beekeepers and prepare them for advanced-level testing. \nThe cost is $75 for an individual attendee. Register online by completing this form and submitting it along with your payment. Registration closes at midnight on Wed\, Dec 31\, and no refunds will be given for cancellations after this date. DESCRIPTION:Join Fearrington Village for a Wine Class – Blind Tasting 101 on Thu\, Feb 5\, 6pm-7pm. During this unique\, interactive\, and educational session\, you’ll learn about classic wines! Many people have heard of sommeliers’ blind wine tastings and the mystique that comes with the skill set. Fearrington is here to tell you it’s not that hard! We all have similar physical abilities as tasters; it’s just a matter of being shown the mental pathways that wine professionals take when tasting selections. \nThe real motivation behind blind tasting is not to impress a roomful of people with your crazy\, spot-on guess. Trained Sommeliers still make wrong guesses all the time! The reason is that it makes you a better taster\, breaking down the why and the how without any preconceptions about what is in the glass. You’ll be tasting 3 reds and 3 whites from classic regions. This will be a very fun and informative class led by Fearrington Wine Director Troy Revell. \nA few small bites from Chef Gagne are included\, and wines tasted will be available for purchase at the end of the event. The class will take place on the Terrace behind The Fearrington House Restaurant. This $75 all-inclusive wine class is non-refundable.
