Tiru was born and raised in Bahirdar\, a small town in Ethiopia. With over 20 years of experience in the restaurant business\, she has spent nearly half of her career specializing in vegan cuisine. In 2022\, Tiru\, alongside her family\, founded Vegan Community Kitchen in Apex. The restaurant quickly gained recognition\, winning the 2024 Maggy Award from Cary Magazine for Best Specialty Diet.
