Here are a couple of important notes: \n\nPlease bring your own plates\, forks\, bowls\, and other eating utensils from home to help make the event environmentally friendly and reduce the use of disposables.\nPlease also bring a note card listing the ingredients in your dish(es) to help those with specific food allergies.\n\nThere is an ADA-certified porta-potty on site\, and a portable handwashing station has also been installed. This program showcases some of North Carolina’s vibrant winter plants and allows participants to take home an example by creating their own leaf printing craft. Drop by anytime between 1:00 and 3:00 pm to learn about plants that stay green in winter\, make a leaf print ornament to take home\, and enjoy roasting a marshmallow. \nSuitable for all ages\, this program is free and open to the public. DESCRIPTION:Get ready for the annual Holiday Bazaar at Bynum Front Porch on Sat\, Nov 29\, 10am-2pm. The Saturday after Thanksgiving\, Bynum wakes up with a sparkle in the air. Down by the old general store\, the front porch is strung with garland and twinkle lights\, and the smell of Bynum’s famous chicken cracker stew drifts out to meet the crowd. \nIt’s Holiday Bazaar day\, and the place hums like a hive. Inside\, tables are stacked with local treasures — hand-thrown pottery still warm from the kiln\, jewel-toned scarves\, hand-poured soaps wrapped in brown paper\, and framed photographs that catch the Haw River in every season. Paintings lean in little clusters\, each one carrying the signature of a neighbor you’ve probably shared a laugh with. Shoppers drift from table to table\, warm cider in one hand\, gift list in the other. \nOutside\, the Bynum Front Porch Pickers are in full swing. Banjo\, fiddle\, guitar — the music rolls out over the lawn\, spilling into the street where folks line up for hot stew\, talking and laughing in puffs of white breath. \nAnd just steps from the front porch\, another tradition is in full gear — Christmas tree pickup. Trucks and SUVs pull in and out\, loading up fresh-cut pines that will soon stand in living rooms all over Chatham County. DESCRIPTION:Join Jordan Lake Farms for their Winter 2025 Season\, hosted on select weekdays and weekends in November and December. Shop their choose-and-cut field\, register for a wreath-making workshop\, and savor hot chocolate and mini donuts from the concessions stand. Plus\, there are plenty of fun activities for the kids\, including a hayride and a children’s play area. You can also choose from fresh-cut NC Fraser Firs\, NC White Pines\, and Concolor Firs\, as well as Ball and Burlap trees that can be planted after Christmas. SUMMARY:Paper Puppet Making
DESCRIPTION:At Paper Puppet Making\, class will begin with designing a large paper mask. You will use markers\, crayons\, stencils\, and more. Next\, you will turn the paper mask into a 3-D form and assemble the body by attaching a wooden dowel to the back. Finally\, you will dress up your puppet with tissue paper. Supplies are included. Instructed by Leigh Babcock. This one-class session takes place Wed\, Dec 3\, 6pm-7:30pm. Registration opens Mon\, Oct 27\, and closes Mon\, Dec 1. \nThis event is held indoors at the new Chatham County Parks\, Recreation\, and Cultural Resources (CCPRCR) Arts Center\, located at 964 East Street\, Suite 105\, Pittsboro\, NC 23712\, on the backside of the building. To access the studio\, drive straight through the open gate and look for the sign that reads “Arts Center”.
