Discover the delicious meat\, dairy\, mushrooms\, fruits\, and veggies produced in the Piedmont! Farm visits include pasture-raised livestock farms\, baby animals\, fiber demonstrations\, hayrides\, farm equipment on display\, an award-winning cheese dairy\, locally grown and fermented pickles\, newly established orchards\, food trucks\, locally grown hops\, a farm with a brewery on site\, and organically grown produce farms. \nVisualize your route with Wander Maps. This monthly book club will explore North Carolina’s rich history through engaging nonfiction. Whether you’re a lifelong history lover or are simply curious about the people and events that shaped our state\, join CCHA for conversation and lively discussion. \nRegister here for the June 2026 session\, where you will discuss Fire on the Beach: Recovering the Lost Story of Richard Etheridge and the Pea Island Lifesavers by David Wright and David Zoby. Fire on the Beach explores the dangers of 19th-century coastal transportation along North Carolina’s “Graveyard of the Atlantic\,” where ships carrying goods and people faced constant danger. Through the story of Richard Etheridge and the all-black crew of the US Life-Saving Service\, the crew faced discrimination and the dangers of the Atlantic\, yet rose to heroism in their service. Participation is free\, and you are welcome to bring friends.
