SUMMARY:Cool Creek Farm Summer Camps
DESCRIPTION:Join Cool Creek Farm for Summer Camps\, hosted during select weeks in June\, July\, and August 2026. Camp days follow an easy flow that starts with a morning circle and conversation\, and reading aloud of quality children’s literature. The bulk of the day is spent with campers choosing their own activities and using their imaginations. Campers can snack whenever they like\, but lunch is eaten together\, sometimes as a picnic under the Bald Cypress or giant Ash tree\, and then they read some more! Camp weeks are enhanced by a special visitor every Wednesday morning. A structured activity or form of entertainment is shared with the whole group. Seasonal free-play options throughout the day include: \n\nSports\, games\, and play structures.\nCrafts.\nCreek and sand play.\nVisiting with the goats and collecting eggs.\nFort building and tree climbing.\nSlip-n-sliding with a break for homemade popsicles.\nTrail walks and campfires.\n\nCamps occur on a 26-acre farm in Pittsboro\, NC\, run by Camp Director Melissa Frey and her adult daughter\, Marinne. Melissa provides structure\, safety\, and supplies to help campers accomplish their ideas for the day. Melissa is passionate about the benefits of significant free-play time for all ages\, away from electronics. SUMMARY:Summer Camps at Old Mill Farm
DESCRIPTION:Join Old Mill Farm for 2026 Summer Camps\, hosted select weeks in June\, July\, and August\, 2026\, 8:30am-3pm. Each day offers new ideas and activities! Your child will learn how to enjoy the great outdoors in their beautiful 6-acre farm setting. Activities vary day to day\, but a bulk of a camper’s day will be spent outdoors tending to\, feeding\, and caring for the animals\, fishing in the pond\, collecting eggs for their farm stand\, doing farm crafts\, gardening\, playing outdoor games\, and learning about life on a farm. In addition to all the fun activities the farm has to offer\, they plan to host guest speakers/activities\, a STEAM-based project that campers will work on throughout the week\, and a Farm Entrepreneurship focus. \nAs a farm\, they are always on top of the weather and will adjust schedules accordingly. The farm offers its own microclimates and activity spaces\, so there’s lots of flexibility for activities. In the event of thunderstorms/adverse weather\, they have access to climate-controlled indoor spaces for campers to enjoy. SUMMARY:Summer Camp at New Beginnings Farm
DESCRIPTION:New Beginnings Farm offers Summer Camps specializing in teaching basic balanced positions and horsemanship\, and in providing fun outdoor activities. This camp is perfect for horse lovers of all ages and levels who want a hands-on experience with horses. They have beginner school horses perfect for the most beginner and timid of riders\, as well as intermediate/advanced horses who can school higher-level dressage movements and jump 3’3 courses. New Beginnings Farm is all about meeting individuals’ wants and needs\, so they can facilitate both English and Western riding. Riding sessions will include trail rides\, riding with cows\, mounted games\, jumping\, dressage\, lunge lessons\, and bareback riding\, depending on the camper’s riding level and desires.  \nWhen not riding\, campers will learn all about horse care and participate in horse-related arts and crafts. The day is finished off with a self-packed lunch and supervised swimming. Campers with their own horse are welcome to keep their horse at New Beginnings Farm for the duration of the camp at no additional charge. They keep their camp numbers low to provide a more personal and safe environment\, so be sure to let them know if you are interested in attending so they can reserve your spot! They can introduce campers to horses for the first time or continue the education of more experienced riders.  \nWhat do campers need to participate? \nCampers will need to wear long pants for riding and closed-toe shoes for being in the barn. Helmets are required while riding\, but New Beginnings Farm has a selection of helmets available for borrowing for the duration of the camp. At their art party\, come ready to: \n\nFinger paint.\nMake colorful slime.\nPlay in shaving cream.\nDraw with pastels\, colored chalk\, and other mediums.\nLearn to embroider on burlap or sew your own stuffed animal.\nMake your own toys.\n\nAnd so much more! Much of the day will be for adults and children to enjoy together. Each afternoon\, they offer a workshop with their guest artist specifically for creative exploration and rejuvenation for parents\, while other artists and camp counselors work with the children. Singing games provide a lively morning circle\, and days will end with a closing circle and a story told by Louise. \nThe cost is $350 for the first child + parents and $275 for each additional child. It is $50 for babies and toddlers under 2. Ages 2-8 and their parents are welcome. DESCRIPTION:Join Cool Creek Farm for Summer Camps\, hosted during select weeks in June\, July\, and August 2026. Camp days follow an easy flow that starts with a morning circle and conversation\, and reading aloud of quality children’s literature. The bulk of the day is spent with campers choosing their own activities and using their imaginations. Campers can snack whenever they like\, but lunch is eaten together\, sometimes as a picnic under the Bald Cypress or giant Ash tree\, and then they read some more! Camp weeks are enhanced by a special visitor every Wednesday morning. A structured activity or form of entertainment is shared with the whole group. Seasonal free-play options throughout the day include: \n\nSports\, games\, and play structures.\nCrafts.\nCreek and sand play.\nVisiting with the goats and collecting eggs.\nFort building and tree climbing.\nSlip-n-sliding with a break for homemade popsicles.\nTrail walks and campfires.\n\nCamps occur on a 26-acre farm in Pittsboro\, NC\, run by Camp Director Melissa Frey and her adult daughter\, Marinne. Melissa provides structure\, safety\, and supplies to help campers accomplish their ideas for the day. Melissa is passionate about the benefits of significant free-play time for all ages\, away from electronics. SUMMARY:Summer Camp at New Beginnings Farm
DESCRIPTION:New Beginnings Farm offers Summer Camps specializing in teaching basic balanced positions and horsemanship\, and in providing fun outdoor activities. This camp is perfect for horse lovers of all ages and levels who want a hands-on experience with horses. They have beginner school horses perfect for the most beginner and timid of riders\, as well as intermediate/advanced horses who can school higher-level dressage movements and jump 3’3 courses. New Beginnings Farm is all about meeting individuals’ wants and needs\, so they can facilitate both English and Western riding. Riding sessions will include trail rides\, riding with cows\, mounted games\, jumping\, dressage\, lunge lessons\, and bareback riding\, depending on the camper’s riding level and desires.  \nWhen not riding\, campers will learn all about horse care and participate in horse-related arts and crafts. The day is finished off with a self-packed lunch and supervised swimming. Campers with their own horse are welcome to keep their horse at New Beginnings Farm for the duration of the camp at no additional charge. They keep their camp numbers low to provide a more personal and safe environment\, so be sure to let them know if you are interested in attending so they can reserve your spot! Helmets are required while riding\, but New Beginnings Farm has a selection of helmets available for borrowing for the duration of the camp. At their art party\, come ready to: \n\nFinger paint.\nMake colorful slime.\nPlay in shaving cream.\nDraw with pastels\, colored chalk\, and other mediums.\nLearn to embroider on burlap or sew your own stuffed animal.\nMake your own toys.\n\nAnd so much more! Much of the day will be for adults and children to enjoy together. Each afternoon\, they offer a workshop with their guest artist specifically for creative exploration and rejuvenation for parents\, while other artists and camp counselors work with the children. Singing games provide a lively morning circle\, and days will end with a closing circle and a story told by Louise. \nThe cost is $350 for the first child + parents and $275 for each additional child. It is $50 for babies and toddlers under 2. Ages 2-8 and their parents are welcome. SUMMARY:Summer Camp at New Beginnings Farm
DESCRIPTION:New Beginnings Farm offers Summer Camps specializing in teaching basic balanced positions and horsemanship\, and in providing fun outdoor activities. This camp is perfect for horse lovers of all ages and levels who want a hands-on experience with horses. They have beginner school horses perfect for the most beginner and timid of riders\, as well as intermediate/advanced horses who can school higher-level dressage movements and jump 3’3 courses. New Beginnings Farm is all about meeting individuals’ wants and needs\, so they can facilitate both English and Western riding. Riding sessions will include trail rides\, riding with cows\, mounted games\, jumping\, dressage\, lunge lessons\, and bareback riding\, depending on the camper’s riding level and desires.  \nWhen not riding\, campers will learn all about horse care and participate in horse-related arts and crafts. The day is finished off with a self-packed lunch and supervised swimming. Campers with their own horse are welcome to keep their horse at New Beginnings Farm for the duration of the camp at no additional charge. They keep their camp numbers low to provide a more personal and safe environment\, so be sure to let them know if you are interested in attending so they can reserve your spot! Much of the day will be for adults and children to enjoy together. Each afternoon\, they offer a workshop with their guest artist specifically for creative exploration and rejuvenation for parents\, while other artists and camp counselors work with the children. PFAR is a non-profit sanctuary for rescued farm animals located in Pittsboro\, NC. Designed for children ages 7-12\, this unique camp offers the opportunity to connect with and care for their incredible animal residents. \nCampers will engage in hands-on animal care\, including preparing nutritious meals and creating daily enrichment activities for the animals. They’ll also enjoy a variety of creative and interactive experiences\, such as arts and crafts\, active games\, storytelling\, improv theater\, and more! Every day\, campers will enjoy delicious vegan snacks and cook their own plant-based lunches alongside a talented vegan chef. \nThe heart of Camp Compassion is building meaningful connections with the amazing animals at the Refuge\, including goats\, sheep\, chickens\, turkeys\, ducks\, geese\, cows\, and one delightful guinea fowl named Frizzle! Each animal has a name\, a unique personality\, and a special story.
