Drive-ins will not be accommodated on those days. Please plan accordingly. Single-day admission is $22.50 per car if pre-booked online or $30 at the gate. SUMMARY:Cool Creek Farm Summer Camps
DESCRIPTION:Join Cool Creek Farm for Summer Camps\, hosted during select weeks in June\, July\, and August 2026. Camp days follow an easy flow that starts with a morning circle and conversation\, and reading aloud of quality children’s literature. The bulk of the day is spent with campers choosing their own activities and using their imaginations. Campers can snack whenever they like\, but lunch is eaten together\, sometimes as a picnic under the Bald Cypress or giant Ash tree\, and then they read some more! Camp weeks are enhanced by a special visitor every Wednesday morning. A structured activity or form of entertainment is shared with the whole group. Seasonal free-play options throughout the day include: \n\nSports\, games\, and play structures.\nCrafts.\nCreek and sand play.\nVisiting with the goats and collecting eggs.\nFort building and tree climbing.\nSlip-n-sliding with a break for homemade popsicles.\nTrail walks and campfires.\n\nCamps occur on a 26-acre farm in Pittsboro\, NC\, run by Camp Director Melissa Frey and her adult daughter\, Marinne. Melissa provides structure\, safety\, and supplies to help campers accomplish their ideas for the day. Melissa is passionate about the benefits of significant free-play time for all ages\, away from electronics. SUMMARY:Summer Camps at Old Mill Farm
DESCRIPTION:Join Old Mill Farm for 2026 Summer Camps\, hosted select weeks in June\, July\, and August\, 2026\, 8:30am-3pm. Each day offers new ideas and activities! Your child will learn how to enjoy the great outdoors in their beautiful 6-acre farm setting. Activities vary day to day\, but a bulk of a camper’s day will be spent outdoors tending to\, feeding\, and caring for the animals\, fishing in the pond\, collecting eggs for their farm stand\, doing farm crafts\, gardening\, playing outdoor games\, and learning about life on a farm. In addition to all the fun activities the farm has to offer\, they plan to host guest speakers/activities\, a STEAM-based project that campers will work on throughout the week\, and a Farm Entrepreneurship focus. \nAs a farm\, they are always on top of the weather and will adjust schedules accordingly. The farm offers its own microclimates and activity spaces\, so there’s lots of flexibility for activities. In the event of thunderstorms/adverse weather\, they have access to climate-controlled indoor spaces for campers to enjoy. Each week is limited to 40 campers\, with a camper-to-staff ratio of 7:1 to provide a safe and special experience for each camper. SUMMARY:Stepping Stones Camp at Clapping Hands Farm
DESCRIPTION:The Stepping Stones Camp at Clapping Hands Farm\, hosted Mon\, Jul 27-Fri\, Jul 31\, 9am-3pm\, is designed to give younger kids a stepping stone towards Clapping Hands Farm’s “big kid camps.” They’ll have gobs of counselor attention\, nurturing art teachers\, and the parts of a big kid camp\, but in a shorter day. Younger campers will get familiar with the farm\, the flow of their day camp\, and make connections with other campers\, all with a ton of gentle support from the staff. \nEach morning\, Louise Omoto Kessel will work with the five to seven-year-olds with an enormous assortment of art projects\, storytelling\, and favorite camp games. Seven to nine-year-olds will have their own leader. In the past\, this group has played cooperative games\, made art – including working together on big collaborative art projects\, built forts\, and told interactive stories with movement. They are finalizing camp leaders now\, so check back for more details on this group’s leader and activities. \nIn the afternoons\, they’ll have “Anything Goes” choice classes with tons of fantastic activities to choose from – art\, games\, toy making\, nature explorations\, engineering projects\, sensory activities\, creative challenges\, music\, dance\, and more. Morning and closing circles\, buddy group check-in\, and an all-camp activity will round out each day. \nThe cost is $350 per child. Ages 5-9 are welcome. Camp days follow an easy flow that starts with a morning circle and conversation\, and reading aloud of quality children’s literature. The bulk of the day is spent with campers choosing their own activities and using their imaginations. Campers can snack whenever they like\, but lunch is eaten together\, sometimes as a picnic under the Bald Cypress or giant Ash tree\, and then they read some more! Camp weeks are enhanced by a special visitor every Wednesday morning. A structured activity or form of entertainment is shared with the whole group. Seasonal free-play options throughout the day include: \n\nSports\, games\, and play structures.\nCrafts.\nCreek and sand play.\nVisiting with the goats and collecting eggs.\nFort building and tree climbing.\nSlip-n-sliding with a break for homemade popsicles.\nTrail walks and campfires.\n\nCamps occur on a 26-acre farm in Pittsboro\, NC\, run by Camp Director Melissa Frey and her adult daughter\, Marinne. Melissa provides structure\, safety\, and supplies to help campers accomplish their ideas for the day. Melissa is passionate about the benefits of significant free-play time for all ages\, away from electronics. The farm offers its own microclimates and activity spaces\, so there’s lots of flexibility for activities. In the event of thunderstorms/adverse weather\, they have access to climate-controlled indoor spaces for campers to enjoy. Each week is limited to 40 campers\, with a camper-to-staff ratio of 7:1 to provide a safe and special experience for each camper. SUMMARY:Stepping Stones Camp at Clapping Hands Farm
DESCRIPTION:The Stepping Stones Camp at Clapping Hands Farm\, hosted Mon\, Jul 27-Fri\, Jul 31\, 9am-3pm\, is designed to give younger kids a stepping stone towards Clapping Hands Farm’s “big kid camps.” They’ll have gobs of counselor attention\, nurturing art teachers\, and the parts of a big kid camp\, but in a shorter day. Younger campers will get familiar with the farm\, the flow of their day camp\, and make connections with other campers\, all with a ton of gentle support from the staff. \nEach morning\, Louise Omoto Kessel will work with the five to seven-year-olds with an enormous assortment of art projects\, storytelling\, and favorite camp games. Seven to nine-year-olds will have their own leader. In the past\, this group has played cooperative games\, made art – including working together on big collaborative art projects\, built forts\, and told interactive stories with movement. They are finalizing camp leaders now\, so check back for more details on this group’s leader and activities. \nIn the afternoons\, they’ll have “Anything Goes” choice classes with tons of fantastic activities to choose from – art\, games\, toy making\, nature explorations\, engineering projects\, sensory activities\, creative challenges\, music\, dance\, and more. Morning and closing circles\, buddy group check-in\, and an all-camp activity will round out each day. \nThe cost is $350 per child. Ages 5-9 are welcome. Melissa provides structure\, safety\, and supplies to help campers accomplish their ideas for the day. Melissa is passionate about the benefits of significant free-play time for all ages\, away from electronics. DESCRIPTION:Join Old Mill Farm for 2026 Summer Camps\, hosted select weeks in June\, July\, and August\, 2026\, 8:30am-3pm. Each day offers new ideas and activities! Your child will learn how to enjoy the great outdoors in their beautiful 6-acre farm setting. Activities vary day to day\, but a bulk of a camper’s day will be spent outdoors tending to\, feeding\, and caring for the animals\, fishing in the pond\, collecting eggs for their farm stand\, doing farm crafts\, gardening\, playing outdoor games\, and learning about life on a farm. In addition to all the fun activities the farm has to offer\, they plan to host guest speakers/activities\, a STEAM-based project that campers will work on throughout the week\, and a Farm Entrepreneurship focus. \nAs a farm\, they are always on top of the weather and will adjust schedules accordingly. The farm offers its own microclimates and activity spaces\, so there’s lots of flexibility for activities. In the event of thunderstorms/adverse weather\, they have access to climate-controlled indoor spaces for campers to enjoy. Each week is limited to 40 campers\, with a camper-to-staff ratio of 7:1 to provide a safe and special experience for each camper. DESCRIPTION:The Stepping Stones Camp at Clapping Hands Farm\, hosted Mon\, Jul 27-Fri\, Jul 31\, 9am-3pm\, is designed to give younger kids a stepping stone towards Clapping Hands Farm’s “big kid camps.” They’ll have gobs of counselor attention\, nurturing art teachers\, and the parts of a big kid camp\, but in a shorter day. Younger campers will get familiar with the farm\, the flow of their day camp\, and make connections with other campers\, all with a ton of gentle support from the staff. \nEach morning\, Louise Omoto Kessel will work with the five to seven-year-olds with an enormous assortment of art projects\, storytelling\, and favorite camp games. Seven to nine-year-olds will have their own leader. In the past\, this group has played cooperative games\, made art – including working together on big collaborative art projects\, built forts\, and told interactive stories with movement. They are finalizing camp leaders now\, so check back for more details on this group’s leader and activities. \nIn the afternoons\, they’ll have “Anything Goes” choice classes with tons of fantastic activities to choose from – art\, games\, toy making\, nature explorations\, engineering projects\, sensory activities\, creative challenges\, music\, dance\, and more. Morning and closing circles\, buddy group check-in\, and an all-camp activity will round out each day. \nThe cost is $350 per child. Ages 5-9 are welcome. She is thrilled to share her farm and watch the kids find their way and feel joy in this setting. \nCAMP DATES & DETAILS \nCamp is held during the following weeks: \n\nMon\, Jun 15-Thu\, Jun 18\, 8:30am-2pm.\nMon\, Jun 22-Thu\, Jun 25\, 8:30am-2pm.\nMon\, Jun 29-Thu\, Jul 2\, 8:30am-2pm.\nMon\, Jul 13-Thu\, Jul 16\, 8:30am-2pm.\nMon\, Jul 20-Thu\, Jul 23\, 8:30am-2pm.\nMon\, Jul 27-Thu\, Jul 30\, 8:30am-2pm.\nMon\, Aug 10-Thu\, Aug 13\, 8:30am-2pm.\nMon\, Aug 17-Thu\, Aug 20\, 8:30am-2pm.\n\nEach week is limited to 8-16 campers\, ages 6-9 (rising 1st-4th graders)\, with an adult-to-camper ratio of 1:8 or better.
