Plus\, enjoy: food and drink\, crafts\, camping\, yoga and massage\, workshops of all kinds\, guided nature walks\, a spectacular parade led by Paperhand Puppet Intervention\, songwriters circles\, advocacy booths\, live painters\, a band contest and poetry slam\, GrassRoots Vinyl Lounge\, dance\, vendors\, and kids and family fun. A music lover’s paradise. \nTickets are on sale now at their lowest rate here. Tent and RV camping are available on-site for an additional cost. Find camping information here. Traditional accommodations and short-term rental properties are located a short drive away in Pittsboro (458 West Bed & Breakfast\, Hampton Inn & Suites by Hilton Pittsboro\, Small B&B and Cafe\, and The Rosemary House) and Silk Hope/Siler City (Cedar Serenity Guest House and The Inn at Celebrity Dairy). \nThere is plenty of parking at the festival site\, and it costs $25 for the weekend or $10 per day per vehicle. They support reducing carbon emissions wherever possible\, so carpoolers with 4 or more occupants park for free! \nAs much as they love pets\, for the health and safety of all\, pets are not allowed at Shakori Hills. Shakori Hills cannot accept entry of “Comfort” or “Emotional Support” animals. The rules concerning ADA Animals are very strict\, and they welcome only those that require true ADA-compliant Service Animals. Comfort or Emotional Support animals are not ADA-approved or classified as such. \nThe Shakori Hills GrassRoots Festival of Music & Dance is a collaboration between the Shakori Hills Community Arts Center and the GrassRoots Festival Organization\, providing a family-friendly celebration of music\, dance\, art\, and education. \nACCESSIBILITY INFORMATION \nAlthough situated on a rolling half-farm and in a wooded setting\, Shakori Hills is fairly navigable for those with disabilities. Please find some helpful information below and contact shakorihills@grassrootsfest.org with any further questions. \nA gravel road connects all of the musical stages. As it is a rolling hill property\, there are slight declines and inclines\, but nothing too steep. This main thoroughfare provides good (though slightly rugged) access to all the music and is very close to their food area\, as well as all the handicap-accessible camping and parking areas. \nMobility-impaired parking is available on a first-come\, first-served basis and is divided into Van-Accessible spaces and regular-width spaces. Please see the parking volunteers for directions and access. A valid state-issued DMV ADA placard or HD plate is required. They have two Mobility-Impaired Camping areas close to handicapped bathrooms. If interested in utilizing one of these sites\, please contact shakorihills@grassrootsfest.org before attending a festival to coordinate. \nThey have an Accessibility Ambassador who can answer any questions and bring staff requests and/or special information to help make Shakori Hills as accessible as possible. DESCRIPTION:Join the NC Arts Incubator and The Chatham Rabbit for their Siler City Downtown Music Series every third Fri\, Apr-Oct\, 6pm-9pm. Their free downtown outdoor concert series features a broad range of local musicians who showcase various genres representative of North Carolina. Bring the entire family! Enjoy kids’ activities hosted by local non-profits\, grab a bite to eat from one of their many rotating food vendors\, and step into a few of the downtown stores that stay open late. Thirsty Skull Brewing usually stops by to serve some pints to listeners\, and bmc brewing will make some special appearances this year as well. Upon arrival\, present your Accessible Parking Placard to the event security personnel stationed at the entrance of the accessible parking lot and drop-off location for entry. MOSAIC also has multiple accessible parking spaces\, centrally located in front of building entrances throughout the campus.   \nAt this time\, MOSAIC at Chatham Park does not offer sensory kits or quiet spaces for Autistic and Neurodivergent individuals. DESCRIPTION:As part of Chatham County’s year-long celebration of America’s 250th birthday\, the Chatham County Historical Association (CCHA) is hosting an NC History Book Club: Between the Lines\, held on the third Saturday of every month in 2026\, from 9:30am-10:30am. This monthly book club will explore North Carolina’s rich history through engaging nonfiction. Whether you’re a lifelong history lover or are simply curious about the people and events that shaped our state\, join CCHA for conversation and lively discussion. \nRegister here for the June 2026 session\, where you will discuss Fire on the Beach: Recovering the Lost Story of Richard Etheridge and the Pea Island Lifesavers by David Wright and David Zoby. Fire on the Beach explores the dangers of 19th-century coastal transportation along North Carolina’s “Graveyard of the Atlantic\,” where ships carrying goods and people faced constant danger. Through the story of Richard Etheridge and the all-black crew of the US Life-Saving Service\, the crew faced discrimination and the dangers of the Atlantic\, yet rose to heroism in their service. Participation is free\, and you are welcome to bring friends. This month’s event takes place Sat\, Jun 20\, 9:30am-10:30am at the Chatham County Courthouse and Historical Museum. \nAll are welcome\, and admission is free.
