After purchasing rugged mountain land in Sonoma County’s Knights Valley — much of it volcanic hillside above the fog line — he and his family planted vineyards across three distinct estate sites: Knights Valley\, Oakville in Napa\, and Seaview on the Sonoma Coast\, preserving the majority of the nearly 1\,200-acre property as wildlife habitat. \nABOUT THE OWNERS \nPaul Michael graduated from the Ecole Hôtelière de Lausanne in 1990 and spent his early career in the hotel and restaurant business\, living in London\, Zurich\, Lausanne\, Paris\, and Dubai\, before completing his MBA at Ashridge Management College in 1994 and joining the family business.
