DESCRIPTION:Join the Chatham Artists Guild for this Show of Hands Gallery Second Anniversary Opening Reception on Fri\, Feb 13\, 5:30pm-8pm. A special exhibit celebrating this local gallery’s second “birthday” will run from Fri\, Feb 13-Tue\, Mar 31\, 2026\, featuring 2-D and 3-D small artworks newly created by many of Chatham County’s local artists\, along with a photograph of their hands creating their piece. The evening will also feature live music and a champagne toast. Plus – it wouldn’t be a birthday party without cake! \nShow of Hands Gallery has established itself as a source for local original art\, handmade crafts\, and unusual gift items\, featuring works by more than 60 North Carolina artists\, including several members of the Chatham Artists Guild. \nParticipating Guild artists include Leslie Palmer\, Lee Kazanas\, Cally Curtis\, Diane Swan\, Mirinda Kossoff\, Bridgette Comellas\, Minnie C. Gallman\, Colleen Black Semelka\, Michael Thompson\, Emily Anderson\, Steevie Parks\, Hamidou Sissoko\, Ellison Goodwin\, Annabelle Stein\, Jane Eckenrode\, and Lara O’Keefe.

SUMMARY:Love Bird Scavenger Hunt at White Pines
DESCRIPTION:Join Triangle Land Conservancy for a Love Bird Scavenger Hunt in celebration of National Bird Feeding Month on Sat\, Feb 14\, and Sun\, Feb 15 at White Pines Nature Preserve. You’re invited to show your love for nature on Valentine’s Day weekend with a special outdoor scavenger hunt. Local pottery artist Courtney Pernell\, owner of Bayleaf market\, is a TLC supporter and is excited to merge her passions for trails\, nature\, and pottery to share that love with the wider community. Visitors to TLC’s seven public nature preserves can search for her handmade pottery “love birds” along the trails.  If you are lucky enough to find one\, it becomes TLC’s gift to you! They ask that once you find a pottery bird\, snap a picture of it on the trail and post it to Facebook or Instagram with the hashtags #hikeTLC and #pottercourt. Please limit your pottery gift to one per person. This fun event coincides with the Great Backyard Bird Count (Feb 13-16\, 2026)\, a global community science event that takes place each February and encourages people to observe and record bird sightings wherever they are. As you search for the clay creations\, you may also spot the real birds that call these spaces home.  \nThis free event takes place outdoors. See more Chatham Sports Alliance events. \nCURRENT MASK POLICY \nTLC seeks to build a supportive\, mask-friendly environment in all collaborations with staff and the public. DESCRIPTION:CORA’s Empty Bowls 2026 is its signature annual fundraising event\, held this year on Sat\, Feb 28\, 5pm-7pm. At Empty Bowls\, guests enjoy a delicious dinner featuring soup tastings from many local restaurants\, spend a fun evening in fellowship with other supporters\, and go home with a beautiful piece of handmade local pottery as a reminder of the empty bowls they help fill for neighbors in need. \nDuring the Fund-a-Need portion of Empty Bowls\, guests have the opportunity to make a direct and meaningful impact by contributing to CORA’s efforts to fight food insecurity. Every dollar raised will help expand programs\, provide nutritious food to more families\, and ensure that no neighbor goes hungry. \nThe menu will include soups served by chefs from local restaurants\, as well as appetizers\, freshly baked bread\, and homemade desserts.
