DESCRIPTION:Join the Chatham Artist’s Guild for a Photographing 3-D Art workshop on Sun\, Apr 26\, 2pm-4pm. Photographing 3-D artwork presents unique challenges. How do you capture the dimensionality\, surface quality\, colors\, and texture of an object? Join Amy and Greg Wandless in their studio to learn how they capture the unique aspects of their beautiful and functional pottery and woodworking\, from setting up a piece to be photographed to some helpful tips on editing your photos. Find out how they developed their techniques – what’s worked for them in the past and what to look out for. You’ll have an opportunity to discuss photographing your own artwork; they will even set up a few pieces brought by participants to see how lighting and background enhance 3-D artwork! \nTo register\, please click here before Sun\, Apr 19\, 2026. Experience the profound impact of nature photography both through observation of others’ work and by practicing nature photography yourself. Beyond creative expression\, photography has the power to draw people together. \nBates Whitaker\, Creative Content Manager at the North Carolina Wildlife Federation\, will discuss the importance of nature photography\, provide guidance on getting started\, and highlight strategies to avoid the pitfalls of unethical wildlife photography practices. Nature photography possesses the potential for a significant positive impact\, but unethical practices can also result in harm.
