Salisbury Street). Participants will walk together through downtown\, accompanied by live Peruvian music to George Moses Horton Middle School (79 Horton Street\, Pittsboro). Free Race Amity Day T-Shirts will be available for the first 100 walkers. \nNot up for the walk? No worries! Join them for the day’s festivities at George Moses Horton Middle School at 10am\, for fellowship\, family\, activities\, music\, food trucks\, and free ice cream compliments of Circle City Ice Cream. This is an opportunity to share a meal and build connections. The day continues from 1pm-3:30pm with a Race Amity Day proclamation\, a special message of encouragement recognizing the importance of this work\, remarks from invited civic leaders\, and music and dramatic performances that reflect the spirit of unity and shared humanity. As part of the program\, community organizations will host informational tables\, offering opportunities for engagement and continued dialogue. Every day\, campers will enjoy delicious vegan snacks and cook their own plant-based lunches alongside a talented vegan chef. \nThe heart of Camp Compassion is building meaningful connections with the amazing animals at the Refuge\, including goats\, sheep\, chickens\, turkeys\, ducks\, geese\, cows\, and one delightful guinea fowl named Frizzle! Each animal has a name\, a unique personality\, and a special story. Melissa provides structure\, safety\, and supplies to help campers accomplish their ideas for the day. Melissa is passionate about the benefits of significant free-play time for all ages\, away from electronics. Camp days follow an easy flow that starts with a morning circle and conversation\, and reading aloud of quality children’s literature. The bulk of the day is spent with campers choosing their own activities and using their imaginations. Campers can snack whenever they like\, but lunch is eaten together\, sometimes as a picnic under the Bald Cypress or giant Ash tree\, and then they read some more! Camp weeks are enhanced by a special visitor every Wednesday morning. A structured activity or form of entertainment is shared with the whole group. Seasonal free-play options throughout the day include: \n\nSports\, games\, and play structures.\nCrafts.\nCreek and sand play.\nVisiting with the goats and collecting eggs.\nFort building and tree climbing.\nSlip-n-sliding with a break for homemade popsicles.\nTrail walks and campfires.\n\nCamps occur on a 26-acre farm in Pittsboro\, NC\, run by Camp Director Melissa Frey and her adult daughter\, Marinne. Melissa provides structure\, safety\, and supplies to help campers accomplish their ideas for the day. Melissa is passionate about the benefits of significant free-play time for all ages\, away from electronics. This camp is for ages 3.5-6\, and all children must be potty-trained. Campers should bring the following items: \n\nWater bottle (filled).\nHealthy snack and lunch (please note: do not pack anything that needs cooking or reheating).\nSunscreen should be applied before camp each morning. There is sunscreen at camp. Please indicate if your child is allergic to any sunscreens and cannot use the sunscreen provided by the camp if the child forgets theirs.\nBug spray.\nClosed-toe shoes and shoes for water play (Crocs or water shoes).\nSun hat.\nChange clothes in a Ziplock Bag for accidents or wet clothing.\nTowel.\nTall socks (to avoid blisters with boots).\n\nCamp is $395 per camper per week. DESCRIPTION:The Art Party Camp at Clapping Hands Farm\, hosted Mon\, Jun 15-Fri\, Jun 19\, 9am-2pm\, is a family camp for parents and young children to enjoy together. Each day\, the Clapping Hands Farm team sets out a spectacular array of visual arts exploration\, and a different guest artist shares music and dance experiences for an all-around fun time. At their art party\, come ready to: \n\nFinger paint.\nMake colorful slime.\nPlay in shaving cream.\nDraw with pastels\, colored chalk\, and other mediums.\nLearn to embroider on burlap or sew your own stuffed animal.\nMake your own toys.\n\nAnd so much more! Much of the day will be for adults and children to enjoy together. Each afternoon\, they offer a workshop with their guest artist specifically for creative exploration and rejuvenation for parents\, while other artists and camp counselors work with the children. Singing games provide a lively morning circle\, and days will end with a closing circle and a story told by Louise. \nThe cost is $350 for the first child + parents and $275 for each additional child. It is $50 for babies and toddlers under 2. Ages 2-8 and their parents are welcome. Per-day registration is $75 for the first child + parents\, $50 for each additional child\, and $10 for babies and toddlers under 2. Since pricing is so complicated\, no discounts are available for this camp\, but scholarships are available\, and no one is turned away. Every day\, campers will enjoy delicious vegan snacks and cook their own plant-based lunches alongside a talented vegan chef. \nThe heart of Camp Compassion is building meaningful connections with the amazing animals at the Refuge\, including goats\, sheep\, chickens\, turkeys\, ducks\, geese\, cows\, and one delightful guinea fowl named Frizzle! Each animal has a name\, a unique personality\, and a special story.
