Their latest mural\, “Dance Party at The Plant”\, was painted by Pittsboro artist Thomas Begley. \nThis event is located at The Plant. See all events at The Plant. \nABOUT THE ARTIST \nThomas Begley is a local artist based out of Pittsboro\, NC. His great love of drawing and fascination with artistic processes have encouraged him to use many different media\, most notably colored pencil portraiture and relief printmaking. He has been pursuing mural painting to experiment with design on a large scale. In all its forms\, his work is surreal and playful and is inspired by observations gathered through years of studious people-watching. He is currently working on restoring a 1996 mural painted in downtown Pittsboro by outsider artist Clyde Jones. You can find him at The Plant next to Fair Game\, where he draws caricatures for customers.

The novel has received the Sir Walter Raleigh Award\, North Carolina’s highest fiction honor. Indigo Field was also a finalist for the Crooks Corner Prize for Southern Fiction and was selected as a great group read by the Women’s National Book Association.  \nABOUT THE AUTHOR \nMarjorie Hudson was born in a small town in Illinois and raised in Washington\, D.C.\, where she graduated from American University with a degree in Journalism and Women’s Studies. After serving as features editor of National Parks Magazine\, she moved to rural North Carolina\, working as a freelance writer. She holds an MFA from Warren Wilson College and lives with her husband\, Sam\, and feisty small terrier DJ\, on a century farm in North Carolina.
