DESCRIPTION:Join Clapping Hands Farm for Crafternoons hosted every Sunday\, December 2025-February 2026\, 1pm5pm. This is a drop-in crafting circle\, not a class. Bring a project you’re already working on\, or join many of our crafters who are making items to donate to the Camp Store—a fun way to craft with purpose. You’re also welcome to come learn by doing; they’re happy to help folks get started\, especially if it supports camp scholarships. \nClasses usually take place at Clapping Hands Farm\, unless otherwise posted\, in their cozy\, heated studio space. There is no fee to participate\, but donations are welcome. Adults are welcome\, and crafty teens may come solo. Children are welcome with a parent who can take full responsibility (the space is small and not ideal for toddlers). The camp store will be open during crafternoon sessions and by appointment through December and early January. All proceeds support camp scholarships. DESCRIPTION:Join Clapping Hands Farm for their Spring 2026 Homeschool Camp\, hosted every Thursday\, Mar 5-Apr 16\, 9am-3:30pm. Clapping Hands is an arts and nature camp and retreat with a special love for community. Our homeschool camp workshops include visual arts\, crafts\, music\, theater\, and dance\, as well as engineering\, building\, nature exploration\, game creation\, and more! \nGENERAL SCHEDULE \n\nCamp opens with games\, Morning Circle\, and morning workshops in focus groups. Each session will have at least two Morning Workshop Focus Groups; campers choose one Focus Group to join for the entire 6-week session.\nLunch.\nAnything Goes and all-camp activities in the afternoon. Activities are different each day\, are based on campers’ requests\, and include opportunities to explore both focus groups. In other words\, if you are interested in both Focus Groups\, you can sign up for one of them for the morning and still be able to “taste” the others during Anything Goes.\nBuddy Group check-in and a Closing Circle before departure.\n\nSee this page for this program’s Focus Groups. \nDETAILS AND LOGISTICS \nCamp is $400 per child\, with full and partial scholarships available. Homeschool Camp serves children and teens ages 8-16. They accept older campers who are interested in their Focus Group topics. They also accept younger campers on a case-by-case basis. Parents\, adults\, and older teens are also needed as Counselors or Volunteers. Parent volunteers at Homeschool camp do so much to make this program fantastic! \nCamp at Clapping Hands Farm takes place outdoors for the most part. They generally run camp in all weather conditions unless there are hazardous driving conditions or it is cold AND wet. In other words\, if it’s raining and 70 degrees\, they will have camp. If it’s 30 degrees and not raining\, we will have camp. But if it’s 40 degrees and raining\, they will skip camp and use their weather make-up day (Thu\, Apr 23). DESCRIPTION:At this Fabric Coiled Baskets workshop on Sat\, Mar 14\, 1pm-4pm\, you’ll learn how to make a cute bowl from fabric wrapped around cotton cording and sewn together. You can make potholders and trivets\, too\, or even a BIG basket; the method is the same! \nParticipants are required to have basic sewing-machine operating skills. The Arts Center has sewing machines available for class use\, but participants are always welcome to bring their own. Supplies are included. This one-class session is instructed by Bea Lee. Registration opens Mon\, Feb 2\, and closes Mon\, Mar 9. This event is held indoors at the new Chatham County Parks\, Recreation\, and Cultural Resources (CCPRCR) Arts Center\, located at 964 East Street\, Suite 105\, Pittsboro\, NC 23712\, on the backside of the building. To access the studio\, drive straight through the open gate and look for the sign that reads “Arts Center.” Visual Arts participants may park in the back lot. \nThe fee to participate is $45 per person\, and registration is required. SUMMARY:Spring 2026 Homeschool Camp at Clapping Hands Farm
DESCRIPTION:Join Clapping Hands Farm for their Spring 2026 Homeschool Camp\, hosted every Thursday\, Mar 5-Apr 16\, 9am-3:30pm. Clapping Hands is an arts and nature camp and retreat with a special love for community. Our homeschool camp workshops include visual arts\, crafts\, music\, theater\, and dance\, as well as engineering\, building\, nature exploration\, game creation\, and more! \nGENERAL SCHEDULE \n\nCamp opens with games\, Morning Circle\, and morning workshops in focus groups. Each session will have at least two Morning Workshop Focus Groups; campers choose one Focus Group to join for the entire 6-week session.\nLunch.\nAnything Goes and all-camp activities in the afternoon. Activities are different each day\, are based on campers’ requests\, and include opportunities to explore both focus groups. In other words\, if you are interested in both Focus Groups\, you can sign up for one of them for the morning and still be able to “taste” the others during Anything Goes.\nBuddy Group check-in and a Closing Circle before departure.\n\nSee this page for this program’s Focus Groups. \nDETAILS AND LOGISTICS \nCamp is $400 per child\, with full and partial scholarships available. Homeschool Camp serves children and teens ages 8-16. They accept older campers who are interested in their Focus Group topics. They also accept younger campers on a case-by-case basis. Parents\, adults\, and older teens are also needed as Counselors or Volunteers. Parent volunteers at Homeschool camp do so much to make this program fantastic! \nCamp at Clapping Hands Farm takes place outdoors for the most part. They generally run camp in all weather conditions unless there are hazardous driving conditions or it is cold AND wet. In other words\, if it’s raining and 70 degrees\, they will have camp. If it’s 30 degrees and not raining\, we will have camp. But if it’s 40 degrees and raining\, they will skip camp and use their weather make-up day (Thu\, Apr 23). SUMMARY:Spring 2026 Homeschool Camp at Clapping Hands Farm
DESCRIPTION:Join Clapping Hands Farm for their Spring 2026 Homeschool Camp\, hosted every Thursday\, Mar 5-Apr 16\, 9am-3:30pm. Clapping Hands is an arts and nature camp and retreat with a special love for community. Our homeschool camp workshops include visual arts\, crafts\, music\, theater\, and dance\, as well as engineering\, building\, nature exploration\, game creation\, and more! \nGENERAL SCHEDULE \n\nCamp opens with games\, Morning Circle\, and morning workshops in focus groups. Each session will have at least two Morning Workshop Focus Groups; campers choose one Focus Group to join for the entire 6-week session.\nLunch.\nAnything Goes and all-camp activities in the afternoon. Activities are different each day\, are based on campers’ requests\, and include opportunities to explore both focus groups. In other words\, if you are interested in both Focus Groups\, you can sign up for one of them for the morning and still be able to “taste” the others during Anything Goes.\nBuddy Group check-in and a Closing Circle before departure.\n\nSee this page for this program’s Focus Groups. \nDETAILS AND LOGISTICS \nCamp is $400 per child\, with full and partial scholarships available. Homeschool Camp serves children and teens ages 8-16. They accept older campers who are interested in their Focus Group topics. They also accept younger campers on a case-by-case basis. Parents\, adults\, and older teens are also needed as Counselors or Volunteers. Parent volunteers at Homeschool camp do so much to make this program fantastic! \nCamp at Clapping Hands Farm takes place outdoors for the most part. They generally run camp in all weather conditions unless there are hazardous driving conditions or it is cold AND wet. In other words\, if it’s raining and 70 degrees\, they will have camp. If it’s 30 degrees and not raining\, we will have camp. But if it’s 40 degrees and raining\, they will skip camp and use their weather make-up day (Thu\, Apr 23). DESCRIPTION:Join  79° West and the Chatham Artist’s Guild for a Beginning Weaving Workshop on Sat\, Mar 28\, 1pm-3pm. Kristin Bergsten loves weaving and is an expert at her craft. In this presentation\, she demonstrates how to make textiles on her portable floor loom in both plain weave and twill patterns. She’ll provide samples of her work for you to examine and discuss\, resourceful handouts\, and share great tips beginners should know before investing in supplies and equipment. Kristin Bergsten will present the workshop\, and Anna Julian will be your host. \nThis workshop is open to adults\, teens 14 and older\, and CAG members in Chatham County.
