Pittsboro book artist Josh Hockensmith of Blue Bluer Books will walk you through the basics of bookbinding with demonstrations and activities. You’ll learn about basic principles\, materials\, and tools of bookbinding through hands-on activities. Materials and instruction will be provided to make your own accordion book\, sewn pamphlets\, and a fun\, combined structure called a dos-à-dos book. \nThis class is $45 per person and $30 for each additional member of your party. George Moses Horton was the first African American author to be published in the United States. George Moses Horton was the first African American author to be published in the United States. Born a slave on a North Carolina tobacco plantation\, he was named the Poet Laureate of Chatham County\, where he spent most of his life. Please bring canned goods and/or a monetary donation to support our Chatham food pantry. Purchase your tickets here. \nCapacity for this event is extremely limited – they expect to sell out rapidly. A $10 ticket is required to attend. Children cannot get in for free due to limited space. Unlike Fearrington’s other events\, the ticket price is not deductible from related Event Books and Tapes. All monies gathered from tickets will go directly to CORA. The most needed items for this month are cereal\, oatmeal packets\, cooking oil\, soup\, apples\, and pasta sauce.
