DESCRIPTION:Taste and tour at the Southern Supreme Holiday Open House. See them decorated for the holidays and shop for the season. Groups are welcome. Try many products\, sweet and savory\, and tour the kitchens. Takes place Thu\, Oct 1-Sat\, Oct 4\, 9am-5pm and Sun\, Oct 4\, 1pm-5pm. \nTour\, sample\, and shop. The sampling menu may change\, but you can look forward to: \n\nSouthern Supreme’s signature nutty fruitcake.\nFruitcake cookies.\nWhite and milk chocolate skinny bark.\nSavory cheese florets.\nCinnamon pecans and Southern pecan pralines.\nMaple crispy peanuts.\n\nThe two-pound fruitcake will be 20% off in their showroom only (limit 12). Online sales will begin Mon\, Oct 5. Southern Supreme has a showroom at 1699 Hoyt Scott Road\, Bear Creek\, NC 27207. They’re open Mon-Sat\, 9am-5pm all year\, except on major holidays.

Four days\, four stages\, and over 50 bands playing family-friendly world\, national\, regional\, and local music. Plus\, enjoy: food and drink\, crafts\, camping\, yoga and massage\, workshops of all kinds\, guided nature walks\, a spectacular parade led by Paperhand Puppet Intervention\, songwriters circles\, advocacy booths\, live painters\, a band contest and poetry slam\, GrassRoots Vinyl Lounge\, dance\, vendors\, and kids and family fun. A music lover’s paradise. \nTickets are on sale now at their lowest rate here. Tent and RV camping are available on-site for an additional cost. Find camping information here. Traditional accommodations and short-term rental properties are located a short drive away in Pittsboro (458 West Bed & Breakfast\, Hampton Inn & Suites by Hilton Pittsboro\, Small B&B and Cafe\, and The Rosemary House) and Silk Hope/Siler City (Cedar Serenity Guest House and The Inn at Celebrity Dairy). \nThere is plenty of parking at the festival site\, and it costs $25 for the weekend or $10 per day per vehicle. They support reducing carbon emissions wherever possible\, so carpoolers with 4 or more occupants park for free! \nAs much as they love pets\, for the health and safety of all\, pets are not allowed at Shakori Hills. Shakori Hills cannot accept entry of “Comfort” or “Emotional Support” animals. The rules concerning ADA Animals are very strict\, and they welcome only those that require true ADA-compliant Service Animals. Comfort or Emotional Support animals are not ADA-approved or classified as such. \nThe Shakori Hills GrassRoots Festival of Music & Dance is a collaboration between the Shakori Hills Community Arts Center and the GrassRoots Festival Organization\, providing a family-friendly celebration of music\, dance\, art\, and education. \nACCESSIBILITY INFORMATION \nAlthough situated on a rolling half-farm and in a wooded setting\, Shakori Hills is fairly navigable for those with disabilities. Please find some helpful information below and contact shakorihills@grassrootsfest.org with any further questions. \nA gravel road connects all of the musical stages. As it is a rolling hill property\, there are slight declines and inclines\, but nothing too steep. This main thoroughfare provides good (though slightly rugged) access to all the music and is very close to their food area\, as well as all the handicap-accessible camping and parking areas. \nMobility-impaired parking is available on a first-come\, first-served basis and is divided into Van-Accessible spaces and regular-width spaces. Please see the parking volunteers for directions and access. A valid state-issued DMV ADA placard or HD plate is required. They have two Mobility-Impaired Camping areas close to handicapped bathrooms. If interested in utilizing one of these sites\, please contact shakorihills@grassrootsfest.org before attending a festival to coordinate. \nThey have an Accessibility Ambassador who can answer any questions and bring staff requests and/or special information to help make Shakori Hills as accessible as possible. SUMMARY:GreenWood Wrights’Fest
DESCRIPTION:Register now for GreenWood Wrights’Fest hosted Fri\, Oct 9 – Sun\, Oct 11\, 2026\, for a relaxing weekend of carving and camaraderie in Pittsboro\, NC. GreenWood Wrights’Fest is a semi-annual gathering of spoon carvers\, bowl turners\, chair makers\, basket weavers\, and toolsmiths united by a passion for crafting with traditional methods. The main festival features formal classes taught by renowned instructors\, while additional gatherings foster casual collaboration and community building. \nLearn new skills and techniques to enhance your greenwood craftsmanship at The Plant. Bring your hammock and best camping recipe\, and prepare to make some memories! The festival offers both beginner and advanced workshops on carving spoons\, as well as numerous other areas of green woodworking. Shorter classes for kids ages 10-14 will be offered on basic knife skills. The festival also features demonstrations that explore the history and culture of green woodworking\, tree identification\, splint harvesting\, tool sharpening\, and lathe turning. \nBasic facilities are provided\, but please note that this is a camping environment. Check the website for a list of recommended items to bring. Instructors’ wares are sold in Cara’s GreenWood Marketplace; attendees are welcome to sell and trade on their own or may apply to be in the Marketplace. \nSee more events at The Plant. \nFREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS \nIs there a fee to attend? \nIt’s free to visit The Plant and explore the lovely hand-carved objects sold at Cara’s GreenWood Marketplace. Experience nostalgic Drive-In Movie Nights at MOSAIC at Chatham Park —where you can relax with your favorite crew\, enjoy classic flicks\, sip soda\, and munch popcorn from the confines of your car. Grab your lawn chairs and blankets for an evening of cinema under the stars! This extra special movie series will feature a screening of Hocus Pocus 2 and Trunk-or-Treating.  \nThe lot opens at 6pm for Trunk-or-Treating\, and the movie begins at 7pm. This event is FREE and open to the public\, but registration is required.  \nAnticipate bag checks and security screenings upon entry. Food or beverages purchased outside MOSAIC\, weapons\, and illegal substances are prohibited. Food and beverages will be available on-site for purchase – be prepared to present your receipt to event security. Pets are welcome. Dogs must be leashed at all times. Please clean up after your pet and dispose of pet waste in the appropriate bins (on-site pet waste stations are located throughout the property). Upon arrival\, present your Accessible Parking Placard to the event security personnel stationed at the entrance of the accessible parking lot and drop-off location for entry.
