Bring a pair of garden clippers and plastic or cardboard to lay your finished wreath on\, as sometimes sap can drain from fresh-cut greenery. DESCRIPTION:Join the Chatham County Beekeepers Association for an in-person\, one-day Intermediate Beekeeper Course on Sat\, Jan 31\, 8am-5:30pm at the Chatham County Agriculture & Conference Center (CCACC).  The primary audience for the school is beekeepers with at least one year of beekeeping experience. This course is designed to help local beekeepers advance their knowledge and to increase the number of skilled beekeepers in the region. At the conclusion of this one-day class\, participants will have received education regarding relevant beekeeping topics that will enable them to be better beekeepers and prepare them for advanced-level testing. \nThe cost is $75 for an individual attendee. SUMMARY:Floral Embroidery Workshop
DESCRIPTION:Join For Garden’s Sake for a Floral Embroidery Workshop on Sat\, Feb 7\, 2pm-4pm at O’Kelly Chapel. This beginner-friendly floral embroidery class will focus on fabric embellishment. Participants will embroider texture onto fabric (specifically Rifle Paper Co. cotton) and learn many basic embroidery stitches in the process. Class will begin with a tutorial on the basics of embroidery\, a demo of basic stitches\, and then time to stitch. Participants will also receive information on how to further their interest in embroidery and create their own designs. The project will not be fully completed during class time\, but participants will be sent home with all the knowledge and materials needed to finish the embroidery at home. \nThe fee is $50 per person and includes all necessary materials and supplies (hoop\, fabric\, needles\, embroidery thread\, and an instructional reference sheet with several types of embroidery stitches)\, a light snack\, and a beverage (alcoholic and non-alcoholic options available). \nNest and Nap Owner Julie Terry will lead this workshop. Space is limited for this intimate evening event. Payment at the time of registration is required to hold your spot. This event is intended for farmers only and is not open to commercial or landscape applicators. \nTesting fees will be collected by NCDA&CS at the time of testing. DESCRIPTION:You do not want to miss The Inn at Celebrity Dairy’s annual Open Barn hosted every Saturday\, Feb 14-Apr 18\, 12pm-5pm. Explore the barn\, scratch a mama goat behind the ears\, and cuddle with some adorable baby goats. This is a great opportunity to learn more about small farm life\, with plenty of fun for the whole family. The price is $10 per person at the gate\, with kids ages 2 and under receiving free admission. The Inn offers homemade lunch and other goodies for sale (including vegetarian options) for an additional cost. \nOpen Barns are rain or shine\, so if it’s cold\, make sure to bundle up\, and if it’s wet\, wear your boots! Most of the event takes place under cover (and the baby goats will help keep you warm)! Free parking is available on-site. No pets are allowed. \nBook a stay at the inn to get in on all the baby goat fun\, including daily baby bottle feedings! 2-hour private barn tours are also available throughout the season (February-April 2026). Celebrity Dairy will guide you through how to feed the goats and answer all your goat-related questions. Bookings are $225 for groups of up to 15 and $15 per additional guest.
