This year’s theme\, “We Walk This Path Together\,” brings together history\, fellowship\, and celebration. The Pittsboro celebration reflects the unique history and vibrant diversity of Chatham County. \nThe day begins at 9:30am with a Mindful Unity Walk from Pittsboro’s Pop-Up Park (50 W. Salisbury Street). Participants will walk together through downtown\, accompanied by live Peruvian music to George Moses Horton Middle School (79 Horton Street\, Pittsboro). Free Race Amity Day T-Shirts will be available for the first 100 walkers. \nNot up for the walk? No worries! Join them for the day’s festivities at George Moses Horton Middle School at 10am\, for fellowship\, family\, activities\, music\, food trucks\, and free ice cream compliments of Circle City Ice Cream. This is an opportunity to share a meal and build connections. The day continues from 1pm-3:30pm with a Race Amity Day proclamation\, a special message of encouragement recognizing the importance of this work\, remarks from invited civic leaders\, and music and dramatic performances that reflect the spirit of unity and shared humanity. As part of the program\, community organizations will host informational tables\, offering opportunities for engagement and continued dialogue. Contributions advancing understanding\, equity\, and connection across Chatham County will be recognized. \nHosted by Partners in Racial Justice and community supporters\, the event is open to everyone. SUMMARY:Twilight Tours at Carolina Tiger Rescue
DESCRIPTION:Carolina Tiger Rescue’s popular Twilight Tours run from March through October (Daylight Saving Time) on Friday\, Saturday\, and Sunday evenings. Tours are for adults only (guests ages 18 years and older). Twilight tours are a more intimate experience to meet CTR’s animals. During these tours\, guests are the only visitors in the sanctuary. The day’s work is done\, and the guests have the sanctuary all to themselves. Enjoy a quiet evening with the cats\, and you might just be lucky enough to be serenaded by the lions!  After all\, they are still wild animals!  As with all their tours\, they cannot guarantee what the cats will do\, but it’s hard to have a bad evening with the animals. \nThe 2026 schedule will begin on Sun\, Mar 8\, and run through Sat\, Oct 31. The timeframe provided in this event listing is an estimate – please check your tickets for the exact time slot. Your Twilight Tour will last for about 1 ½ hours. Please arrive 15 minutes early. Trained volunteer tour guides will walk you through the animal sanctuary. You will learn about the various species living at Carolina Tiger Rescue and the challenges they face in the wild\, as well as the difficulties they encounter in captivity. You will have the opportunity to ask questions and take photos\, but please note that there will be no physical contact with the animals. \nAdvance tickets are required for attendees (no walk-ins available). Tours are offered from April to October on Friday\, Saturday\, and Sunday evenings\, rain or shine. The cost is $32 per person\, and a maximum of 25 people may attend each tour. Tickets are available 8 weeks before your visit. \nSee more events at Carolina Tiger Rescue. \nBEFORE YOU VISIT \nThere are several things CTR would like you to know before booking your tour. Please review the information below before purchasing your tickets: \n\nAll tours go out rain or shine. In the event of extreme weather\, Carolina Tiger Rescue will contact guests to inform them whether a cancellation is necessary.\nPhotos may be taken during your tour after you’ve signed your visitor release.\nThe Education Center is wheelchair-accessible; however\, the gravel and grass paths may be more challenging to navigate for individuals with mobility impairments. Golf carts are available to assist guests as needed. If you have accessibility concerns\, please call 919.542.4648 to make arrangements before your visit.\nGPS may not provide accurate directions to CTR’s location. They recommend using the directions from their website to ensure a successful arrival.\nCTR does not allow outside animals anywhere on the property. Please leave your pets at home.

This event is at West End Emporium: 23 Rectory Street\, Pittsboro\, NC 27312. Create your own Turkish mosaic moon lamp! In this class\, you will create gorgeous patterns from colorful\, cut pieces of glass\, which will be applied to your glass shade and later grouted. Wine & Design will provide the template and materials; all you need is your excitement. Once your creation is complete\, you will be glowing with joy. All alcohol is available for purchase through West End Kitchen via the Pittsboro Downtown Social District. No outside alcohol allowed at this location. There will also be a full-service menu available from West End Kitchen if you wish to purchase food or snacks. Please arrive 15 minutes early to purchase any food or beverages. \nThis class is $129 per person. Payments can be made online. Classes last approximately 2 1/2 hours. This is an ADULT event. 18 and up. Each person present in the studio must have a paid seat. Participants ages 15 and up can come with a guardian; both must have paid tickets. Please tell them in the special notes section at checkout if you have a minor aged 15-18. If meeting a friend(s)\, please list the names so you can be seated together. Parking is available in front of the building\, with additional parking available in the back lot to the right of West End Emporium. Refunds will not be issued if a customer cancels their reservation. To receive a credit to be redeemed within 60 days towards another class\, you must email chapelhill@wineanddesign.com at least 24 hours in advance of an event. If this is the case\, you will receive a credit that can be redeemed for another class of equal value.

This time of day is the most beautiful as the sun pours in at a low angle\, casting shadows and silhouettes. Your group will tour the greenhouses and ask questions about orchid cultivation. Make a reservation in Pittsboro for later in the evening – consider West End Kitchen & Catering\, The Sycamore at Chatham Mills\, Cafe Root Cellar\, or The Beagle\, to name a few of many options. This event is bring-your-own-beverage – consider stopping by and picking something up from one of our craft beverage makers. Sunset times change throughout the year\, so if this time and day do not work for your group\, please contact them with a time that works for you so they can accommodate you. \nThe tour and class take about an hour and a half. SUMMARY:Chatham Yardbirds vs East Coast Iron Horses
DESCRIPTION:Come out for a night of baseball and watch Chatham Yardbirds vs East Coast Iron Horses at the new Chatham Yardbirds field in Paul Braxton Park on Sat\, Jun 13\, 7pm-10pm. \nGates typically open about an hour before first pitch. The team plays an Old North State League schedule against opponents from across North Carolina and southern Virginia\, with most games on weekday evenings and weekend afternoons or nights. Tickets are general admission and inexpensive\, so families tend to show up in groups\, find seats close to the action\, and stay through the seventh-inning stretch. \nThe pace is the appeal. Wood bats sound different from the metal you hear at most amateur fields\, the players are all college athletes spending their summer chasing reps\, and the gap between the action and the crowd is small enough that you can hear the catcher talking. Between innings\, the staff runs the kinds of small-park promotions that summer collegiate league has built its reputation on: t-shirt tosses\, on-field contests\, kids chasing foul balls in the gravel. If one of those players is staying with a host family two streets over\, you might see him at the diner the next morning. That’s the trade summer ball makes for not being a major-league night out: you get closer to the game\, and closer to the people playing it. \nVisiting from out of town? Pair a Yardbirds game with dinner in downtown Siler City beforehand\, or a slow drive home through Chatham County’s farm roads after the final out. \nWeather\nPack layers for night games\, as central North Carolina evenings can drop into the 60s in early summer. Summer thunderstorms are routine in the Piedmont\, and games can be delayed\, suspended\, or postponed. Check the Yardbirds’ Instagram\, Facebook\, or website on iffy weather days before driving out. The team sets refund and rain-check policies. \nLogistics\nOn-site and street parking will be available. This event takes place outdoors\, and the field is lighted for evening games. A concession stand operates at the complex with standard ballpark fare. This is a family-friendly event\, with group tickets available.
