An informative, hands-on fruiting tree (Pawpaw, American Hazelnut, Persimmon, Red Mulberry, Highbush Blueberry, and Elderberry) planting class.
Sat, Jun 24, 9am-12pm Pollinator Week Celebration: A Celebration of Natural Resources of Chatham County
Location: Northeast District Park
Cost: FREE
Join Chatham County Parks and Recreation for this environment-themed event at Northeast District Park. This free event will include nature-based programming and a celebration of the Year of the Trail.
Sat, Jul 1, 10am-12pm Puppies and Pedals Bike Parade
Location: The Park at Briar Chapel
Registration Deadline: Fri, Jun 23
Age Range: All ages welcome
Cost: FREE
Celebrate Independence Day in style! Come and decorate your bike (or your dog) in red, white, and blue for a parade around the park. Awards will be on hand for best in show. Preregistration is recommended. Bike decorating supplies will be available, but participants are encouraged to bring additional flair. Participants must bring their own dog costumes. Staging and decorating begin at 9:15am.
Fri, Jul 7, 6pm-8pm Sunset Learn to Paddle
Location: Farrington Point Boat Ramp

Age Range: 10+
Cost: $30
Come learn the basics of canoeing and kayaking before going on a sunset trip around Jordan Lake and finishing the evening with S’mores. Participants will meet at Farrington Point Boat Ramp. No experience is needed. All supplies provided.

Location: Northwest District Park
Age Range: 5-14
Cost: $55 per week.
Chatham County Parks and Recreation Summer Camp is a traditional-style summer camp featuring activities like swimming, boating, fishing, archery, crafts, outdoor games, indoor games, and more. Registration opens Fri, Mar 31 at 10am.
