Gift certificates available at this independent bookstore in historic downtown Siler City. The Siler City Farmers' Market has once again moved inside the bookstore for the year for some great food & gift items.

Author Marcia Edwina Herman will talk about her new book "Sipping My Garden," a beautifully illustrated book on herb teas and recipes for delicious herb teas. Meet her Apr 21 when Marcia will be here for a book signing along with tea tastings.

Fridays, 11am to 1pm:
Farmers/Vendors as well as produce may vary from week to week but can include:
Joan Thompson with her delicious jams, jellies, pickles, a variety of breads, focaccia bread, cheese muffins, and cookies.
Pam Brady of Mazie Sommer Soaps will be bringing handmade goat's milk and rainwater soap, laundry powder, milk bath, room & linen spray, liquid soap, lip balm, bath bombs and gift combos.
Oak Trace will be supplying fresh eggs.
Gamgee Gardens will be here with her dried herbs and pecans.
Silk Hope Organics brings sweet potatoes, broccoli, lettuce and other greens along as well as garlic.
Donniesbrook Farm has a variety of items such as tomatoes, eggplant, turnips, turnip greens, peppers, leeks, garlic, eggs, baby ginger, fresh herbs, kale, collards, spinach and mustard greens.

Remember Siler City from the Andy Griffith show? Andy, Barney, and the other Mayberry folk went there on Saturday to do their shopping. In fact, Francis Bavier, the actress who played Aunt Bee, lived only a couple of miles from where our used book store, Paperbacks Plus!, now stands.

Find the same down-home ambience here that existed in Floyd's Barber Shop or Walker's Drug Store. Browse, talk, have a cup of coffee. You get the same personal service at Paperbacks Plus! that you'd hope to find in any small-town store.

Paperbacks Plus! has thousands of titles -- Mystery, Adventure, Romance, Science Fiction and Fantasy, Westerns, Espionage, War, Sagas, Self-help, Hobbies, Heath, Biographies, Humor, and Christian -- to name a few. We accept books in trade and maintain store credit accounts for you. We order new books, keep wish lists by customer, and search for books on those list. Gift certificates are available when you just don't know which book that certain someone needs.

We are open for Siler City's Third Friday Art Walk, hold books signings, and often have special events such as off-season hosting of a mini-farmer's market. Santa also visits at Christmas time.
