The Siler City winery is located within an hour's drive of the Research Triangle Region; it has just the right topography for French-American hybrid vines. Loeffler and Harper planted close to five acres of vines, including Viognier, Cabernet Franc, and Chambourcin. Nestled on a 20-acre property off of Highway 421 just south of Siler City and US 64, Horizon Cellars features a generous tasting room that allows guests to overlook the fermentation tanks from above; the barrel room in the basement of the winery will soon be the perfect location for dinners, small corporate events, and intimate receptions. Horizon Cellars will soon have available for sale its first bottles of wine (orders can soon be made online). The winery will soon be offering Carlos and Southern Blush for those with sweeter tastes. Horizon Cellars is open Thursdays through Mondays, 11am - 5pm. Guests will be able to taste wines and can purchase wine by the bottle or the glass. Horizon Cellars will also host regularly scheduled tours so that guests can learn about the wine-making process. Groups are also welcome to contact the winery about special functions and events.
