The New Hope Valley Railway, one of our family attractions, offers train rides on Sundays (check schedules to confirm). Live music, garden railroad, snackbar. Browse the museum of railroad equipment from throughout North Carolina. Exhibits include cars and locomotives, a collection of historic memorabilia, and a six-hundred foot garden size model railway. Hours: 10am - 4pm. You should arrive at least 30 minutes before the train you plan to ride so as to allow time to park and get tickets. The trip to New Hill and return to Bonsal takes about an hour. Feel free to call to verify that trains are operating. Limited handicap facilities, contact regarding accommodations. Special group outings can be reserved for corporate, families, etc. Holiday Trains - Dec 1, 2, 8, 9. Other dates: Oct 27 (Halloween - spooky train rides in the evening with costumed characters in the woods and around the depot, 3pm - 8pm), Nov 4.
