The Chatham County Council on Aging, in partnership with NC Cooperative Extension Service, invites you to a day-long program of educational sessions on a range of topics. The keynote speaker is Dr. Nortin M. Hadler, Emeritus Professor of Medicine and Microbiology/Immunology at the UNC-Chapel Hill. Author of a number of books and other publications, including “Rethinking Aging: Growing Old and Living Well in an Overtreated Society,” Dr. Hadler encourages people to make better choices and increase their wellness as they age. Among the many other topics that will be addressed during the day by speakers from Chatham and surrounding counties include fraud and scam protection, advanced directives, spring gardening, cooking for 1 or 2, financial and estate planning, selecting the right footwear, internet technologies for seniors, pain management, discovering Nia as a holistic fitness practice, medicinal use of herbs, downsizing and de-cluttering, preservation of historical sites, and much more.
